Homework Explanation & Policy (electronic copies are below text):
Every Monday, your child will bring home a homework folder. This folder is to be used all year long as a way to keep student homework and handouts organized. Inside you will find a homework sheet. This sheet is a plan for the week showing what homework students will have. Unless otherwise noted, all homework needs to be completed by Friday (or whatever day is the last day of that school week). Students should return their homework folders, homework sheet with recorded reading, and any other activity sheets in to Mrs. West's turn-in basket by Friday.
The homework sheet is intended to help students stay organized with their time so they are encouraged to do a little each night, but I definitely understand that some nights are busier than others so the goal is to have it all done by the last day of the week.
Along with the homework sheet, I will also include a newsletter on the back of the homework page every couple of weeks. This newsletter will help keep you up-to-date on the concepts students are learning about and working on in class!
This year, I will also work on keeping our class blog up-to-date with glimpses into our days, so make sure to check out "Our Class Blog" link!
